Fishing Journal

Several years ago, I began keeping a journal of the special fishing trips I've taken over the years. I keep it for no audience in particular, but I always felt that it was a shame not to share with others the enjoyment that fly fishing has brought to me over the years. I also thought, in the back of my mind, that my two young, barely out of diapers, nephews might enjoy reading this stuff and that it just might spark in them the same kind of interest.

At first, I wrote the journal by hand, but soon yielded to the wonders of technology and began using a laptop. I enjoy having the ability to backspace and spell check. I also find that I occasionally go back and make changes to something that I've written, even from years past. Some may question why I do that, but I feel that ones thoughts about something can change over time and that maybe your recollections at the moment may not always make for the clearest picture.

One additional benefit of the computer, is the ability to incorporate photos into the stories. Since I've all but given up on film, this was a perfect way to use all of those digital photos that I've been keeping. While I prefer to use the computer to enter information, I still prefer to read the old fashioned way. Therefore, I've set up the journal so that it could one day be published. My plan is to complete a certain number of trips then have the journal printed and bound. I feel that I am just about one or two trip shy from finishing "Volume I". Since it seems like the whole world is becoming digital. Gradually, I'll add hyperlinks below for each of the chapters of my journal and I would welcome any feedback.
